What is rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is the medical term for a nasal cosmetic or reconstructive surgery, commonly referred to as a nose job. It is one of the most popular facial cosmetic surgery procedures in California, due to its impact on a person’s appearance and the general ease of the recovery. The goal of a successful rhinoplasty is to create a nose that not only functions well but also appears to be in harmony with the rest of the facial features.
At Top Rhinoplasty Physicians, we specialize in giving patients not only the nose that they want, but also a nose that works completely with the rest of their facial anatomy. Dr. Kevin Sadati achieves these outcomes through an extensive consultation with the patient and through having experience in a wide variety of different nasal surgical techniques. He recognizes the importance of creating a beautiful nose that accentuates a person’s inner beauty and ethnic background.
Typically, a patient undergoing a rhinoplasty surgery will be put under general anesthesia. However, patients are also given the option of a local anesthetic with an IV sedation. This option is known as twilight anesthesia, and can be discussed with your doctor.
Following the surgery, a nasal splint will cover the nose for about a week. This helps to reduce bruising and swelling. Typically, a patient is ready for the public between one and two weeks, but all contact sports should be avoided for four weeks.
Dr. Sadati an expert rhinoplasty surgeon will only perform a rhinoplasty surgery with board certified anesthesiologists who operate out of accredited centers. He prefers to perform this surgery at Hoag Hospital and Star Point Surgical Center, as he has found it to have the best level of care for his patients.
Preoperative and postoperative measures are taken to increase a patient’s comfort level as well as to reduce any swelling and bruising that might occur. Dr. Sadati gives each patient specific instructions for their surgery, as each rhinoplasty procedure and patient is different. At Top Rhinoplasty Physicians, patients can rest assured that they will get the individual care that they need and desire, ultimately resulting in a nose they have dreamed about for years.
